Our Story
Math Basics began as a simple multiplication game I created for my daughter when she was learning her times tables. I was teaching high school technology courses at the time and coding was one of my hobbies, this project gave me a way to work on my programming skills while helping her practice multiplication in a fun, engaging way.
Later, when my son was learning long division, I noticed he was struggling with his multiplication facts. That prompted me to revisit the project and develop a web-based version that could be used on any device, including tablets.
What started as a family project has evolved into a platform designed to help students strengthen essential math skills. The name "Math Basics" reflects the goal: to support mastery of foundational math that builds confidence and prepares students for future learning.
Our Mission
As a math teacher, I've seen many students struggle with basic math skills, making it harder for them to understand more complex concepts. Math Basics was created to help students develop fluency and confidence in fundamental math through focused, interactive practice.
We aim to provide a low-distraction learning environment that's both effective and accessible.
Advertising
To help cover the costs of running the website, we may include advertising. While ads may appear on the quiz screen, we will aim for them to not interrupt the flow of the activity — they will never be placed between the question and the number pad.
